Ashley K. Klocke, OD

Doctor of Optometry

I am Dr. Klocke, grew up on a farm outside of Tappen, North Dakota.   I graduated from high school there (with a class of 9 people!), got my undergraduate degree from North Dakota State University, graduated from Pacific University College of Optometry, and finished my education at the Kansas City VA Medical Center.  I discovered Decorah and joined the practice in July 2011, and love it! I enjoy connecting with patients and getting to know them and their family over time.  When I’m not taking care of eyes, I can usually be found with my husband and daughter enjoying life out in the country.  I enjoy getting outdoors to do some hiking, hunting, or whipping up some baked goods in the kitchen as well.  One fun fact…I love to mow grass and take pride in mowing straight lines!

Bradley E. Schwartz, OD

Doctor of Optometry

Hi!  My name is Brad Schwartz.  I was born in Northern California, the son of an Air Force pilot and have lived all across the United States.  After four years of college at Wartburg College and four years of graduate school at the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, my wife and I decided what better place to raise a family and provide eye care than Northeast Iowa.  Decorah has been a perfect fit for 27 years.  I love Decorah because we are a community of “family”.   I have enjoyed watching my patients grow and learn and in some cases become staff for us here at Oneota Valley Family Eye Care!  It is satisfying to know that I have been able to help others in our community preserve their vision for a lifetime.  That’s our motto!  When I am not seeing patients, I love to hang with family (including our dogs) or go for walks or runs, read, camp or fish.  Some odd hobbies I have are saltwater reef keeping and brewing beer.  Rumor has it that I was a bass player in the rock and roll band ‘Redline’.  True fact.  The band still exists.  Google it!

Laura Busta, ABO

Optical Manager

My name is Laura.  I started working here in 1997 and even after this many years I still love it. My favorite part of my job are the people both the patients and my co-workers. I enjoy talking to the patients and helping them in any way I can. If you need your glasses adjusted, if you need a better understanding of your prescription, if you want to  pick out new frames or just want to talk just stop on in. I am originally from the big town of St. Lucas but have been a resident of the Fort Atkinson area since 1988 when I married my husband Steve. We both went to Turkey Valley High School where my children also attend. I am a proud mother of four children, Nicole, Ryan, Emily and Carson. We are avid sports fans so if I’m not at work I’m either watching my children participate in football, volleyball, basketball, track, golf, baseball or softball.  We love it, win or lose (of course winning is always easier to take)

Val Erickson

Eyewear Stylist

My name is Valerie! I am NEW to the Eye Catcher Frame Fashions department, but not new to the Oneota Valley “family”.  As I have been a patient here for many years and have enjoyed my experiences SO MUCH that I decided to join the team in April, 2018!

I am originally from Chatfield, MN, where I graduated from Chosen Valley High School. I made the BIG MOVE to Iowa in 1993 and I currently live just outside of Clermont, IA with my husband Tom and our three children; Jacob, Matilyn, and Gabriel.

In my spare time, I enjoy being with my family, friends, and spending time with all of our fur and feathered family members that consist of: Horses, Dogs, Cats, Chickens, and one very handsome Goose named Hansel.  Most weekends you can find me either working in our shop at home, where I enjoy refurbishing furniture and up-cycling items many people would have thrown away or out enjoying the great outdoors!

When asked “what do you love most about your job”?  My answer will ALWAYS be “the joy and excitement that I see on the faces of our patients when they find that perfect pair of glasses” and then there are “my Co-Workers”, who truly feel more like family and who make coming to work…well feel “not like work”.

Renee Gunderson, ABO

Optical Fabrication Specialist

My name is Renee and I’m from the Canton, Minnesota area. I graduated from North Winneshiek and attended Hamilton Business College in Cedar Rapids. I graduated with a Travel and Tourism degree. I have been at Oneota Valley Family Eye Care for 17 years. My job is to edge lenses for our patient’s frame. In my free time I love to go biking.  We love the Decorah bike trail and also like to travel to other areas to ride new trails

Brittney Suhr

Eyewear Stylist

My name is Brittney, and I’m from small-town Fredericksburg. I attended Sumner-Fredericksburg High School and later graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a bachelor’s degree in Family Services. I’ve been working at Eye Catcher Frame Fashions as an Eyewear Stylist since January of 2016. I love working with my patients and helping them find the perfect pair of glasses—I especially love when their eyes light-up when the find “the pair”!  I promise there is a pair of glasses for every personality! When I’m not at work, you can find me crafting, shopping, and attending country music concerts. I have seen over 75 artists, and no one melts my heart quite like Kenny Chesney.

Bailey Timp

Eyewear Stylist

My name is Bailey, and I am from Spillville, IA. I went to South Winneshiek High School and then attended the University of Northern Iowa. I graduated from UNI in 2018 with a degree in Marketing and an emphasis in Advertising/Digital Media. I started here in March of 2018 and came on staff full-time after I graduated college. I love being able to get to know each patient, so I can recommend eyewear that will work great for them! It has been interesting to learn all about the world of eye care. It is an added bonus that my coworkers are such great people! When I’m not at work, I love to spend time with my family and friends. I also love to be outdoors and go on walks around town. My fiancé and I spend free weekends at concerts or sporting events when we can. But I am also perfectly content with a night in watching something on Netflix!
